Local Community Comes Together for Enabling Care For You’s First Charity Fun Day

Enabling Care For You welcomed visitors to its first-ever Community Fun Day on Saturday, held at the company’s offices at The Hoppers in Hadlow.

The free community event brought together local families, clients, friends and supporters for a day of fun while raising money for the charity Hospice in the Weald.

Visitors enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the day, including face painting, a raffle, tombola, biscuit decorating, games, a barbecue and a selection of authentic Zimbabwean and Nigerian dishes, all prepared by members of the Enabling Care For You team.

The event proved to be a tremendous success, raising £358.50 in cash, alongside further donations received through the event’s QR code. Donations remain open, meaning the total continues to grow, with every penny being donated directly to Hospice in the Weald to support the vital care it provides to local patients and their families.

Philippa Potter, Director and Registered Manager of Enabling Care For You, said:

“We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support shown by our local community. As a care provider, we see every day the incredible work Hospice in the Weald carries out for people and their families during some of life’s most difficult times, so it was important to us to give something back.

“Seeing so many people come together to support such an important local charity was wonderful. I would like to thank every member of staff, volunteer, local business, and everyone who attended, donated prizes, helped organise the day or simply came along to support us. Without their generosity, this event would not have been possible.”

Following the success of the inaugural event, Enabling Care For You has confirmed that the Community Fun Day will now become an annual fundraising event, with plans already underway to make next year’s celebration even bigger.

The company hopes the event will continue to strengthen community links while raising much-needed funds for local charities.

Anyone who was unable to attend but would still like to support the fundraising can continue to donate using the event’s QR code, with all proceeds going directly to Hospice in the Weald.
