A no-obligation assessment

When you need support it's not just about finding the clinical support worker, it's about finding the individual who is best suited to you. That's why we will visit you at your home to get to know you and see exactly what you need before beginning our expert care.

It can be difficult for your friends and family when you're not well, which is why we are always on hand to offer conversation, care and advice whenever it is needed.

Complex conditions can come on quickly, but we only need 24 hours’ notice before we can begin our care. Every person is different in their care needs and if your condition suddenly deteriorates or you feel stronger and able to cope without as much assistance, we'll adjust your care plan to suit, providing the level of care that's just right.

Motor Neurone disease care

Motor neurone disease is a progressive condition that affects the brain and nerves when motor neurone cells gradually stop working over a period of time.

Treatment can help reduce the impact on daily life and many people live with the condition for many years. Highly specialised clinics and occupational therapy can make daily tasks easier; physiotherapy can help maintain strength, speech and language therapy can help with communication, a dietitian can advise on diet and eating and there are some medicines to help slow the progress and relieve symptoms.

Symptoms can start with weakness and poor co-ordination, slurred speech, poor grip, muscle cramp and twitches, weight loss and difficulty stopping yourself crying or laughing in inappropriate situations.

As the disease progresses, it can become increasingly difficult to move around, swallow, talk and breathe meaning more medical care is needed such as a feeding tube or oxygen mask.

Care for people with Motor Neurone disease

The level of care needed for someone with motor neurone disease will vary as the disease progresses and Enabling Care for You Limited can provide care throughout this journey with you. We understand this can be a difficult and frustrating condition to live with and we are here to provide both physical and emotional support to you and your family throughout.

We can provide support that can be adapted as you need it. We’ll aim to help you remain independent for as long as possible, taking our queues from you on the level of help you want or need and stepping in when needed.

As the disease progresses and you begin to require a higher level of care, we can review our care plan with you and provide all the help and support you need to be comfortable and live your life as fully as you can. We can support you around the home, with personal care and assist with medications.

Continence Care

Our trained and dedicated carers are helping people with incontinence to live fulfilled and independent lives daily. Whether you require assistance with catheter, bowel, or stoma care, we can support you or your loved one from the comfort of your home.

We’ve always maintained exceptionally high standards in bladder and bowel care. Our careers are fully trained in providing the right level of continence care while always maintaining dignity at all times.

You’ll receive support that’s completely built around your needs and requirements. From help going to the toilet and changing pads all the way through to support with managing a catheter or changing a colostomy bag, we can talk you through the options.

Above all else, we put you at the centre of your care plan. As such, the care you receive completely revolves around your personal care needs, your lifestyle and your likes and interests. And because we cover the whole range of home care options, your support can easily grow and lessen if or when your needs change.

What is gastrostomy care?

Gastrostomy is a term used to describe a surgical opening made directly into the stomach. This artificial opening is introduced to help people who have trouble swallowing food and liquids. A discreet plastic peg (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) tube or button directly inserted into the opening allows for food and liquids, as well as medicines, to enter the stomach.

Our carers work to ensure that individuals can enjoy an independent life whilst receiving peg-gastrostomy care. We can help you or your loved ones with the management of food and fluid intake through daily feeding tube care, taking any dietary requirements into account. They can also support with any medication.

As well as covering the medical aspects of gastrostomy care, our services also cover the important element of companionship. When our experienced carers arrive to provide PEG feeding at home for customers, they’re there to offer their help and support. Enthusiastic and friendly, our carers are never too busy for a quick chat and are happy to assist you to be comfortable in your own home.

Fully trained peg-gastrostomy carers

Our care staff recognise that PEG care circumstances vary from person-to-person. We take into account your requirements to ensure you receive the levels of gastrostomy tube feeding care you need.

We take your existing lifestyle into account and look to build a gastrostomy care plan around it – allowing you to receive the support you need without the upheaval and disruption.
