Orthopaedic Care
This service is designed to give care and support to individuals with spinal conditions requiring an orthopaedic brace that will impact the individual’s ability to carry out everyday tasks, restricting their mobility, whilst healing their bones. This service is normally a 6-week period, but can be extended if required.
Specialist Orthopaedic Support
When it comes to orthopaedic recovery, precision and competence are non-negotiable. We provide specialist skills that most other care agencies simply don’t offer, ensuring clients receive care that is safe, clinically informed, and delivered with expert confidence. Many of the orthopaedic aids we work with are life-changing and form a vital part of a client’s rehabilitation, stability, and long-term outcomes. They must be applied, monitored, and managed correctly — and that requires staff who fully understand what they’re doing, not guesswork or improvisation.
Our team is trained to a high clinical standard, enabling us to manage complex orthoses and post-operative supports with consistency, accuracy, and clear respect for the client’s spinal, skeletal, and neurological safety. We follow evidence-based practice, multi-disciplinary guidance, and manufacturer requirements to ensure every piece of equipment is used exactly as intended. We don’t simply “assist”; we deliver specialist orthopaedic support with the competence of a team that has been properly trained.
Miami J Collar Support (Two-Carer Assistance)
Our carers are trained to:
- Apply and remove the collar using correct two-person stabilisation
- Maintain cervical alignment during repositioning, personal care, and transfers
- Perform regular skin and pressure-area checks
- Monitor for discomfort, swelling, or poor fit
- Work in accordance with physiotherapy, neurosurgical, or orthopaedic instructions
This level of safe management is essential to prevent secondary injury and to support effective healing.
TLSO (Thoraco-Lumbar Sacral Orthosis) Management
Our team is confident and competent in:
- Log-rolling techniques with correct spinal precautions
- Safe brace application, alignment, and secure fastening
- Protecting spinal integrity during personal care and movement
- Monitoring pressure areas and skin condition beneath the brace
- Collaborating with physiotherapists and clinical teams regarding wearing schedules and adjustments
We understand that even a small error can have a big impact — so we get it right every time.
Orthopaedic Boots & Post-Operative Supports
Post-operative recovery often relies on very specific equipment, and clients need carers who truly understand it.
We provide skilled support with:
- Orthopaedic walking boots
- Knee immobilisers
- Ankle and foot braces
- Post-surgical stabilisers and supports
- Weight-bearing restrictions and mobility guidance (as directed by clinicians)
- Elevation techniques to reduce oedema
- Monitoring circulation, swelling, and comfort
Our carers ensure these devices are fitted correctly, used safely, and integrated into daily routines without compromising recovery.
A no obligation assessment
When you need support, it’s not just about finding the clinical support worker, it’s about finding the individual who is best suited to you. That’s why we will come and visit you at your home to get to know you and see exactly what you need before beginning our expert care.
It can be difficult for your friends and family when you’re not well, which is why we are always on hand to offer conversation, care and advice whenever it is needed.
Complex conditions can come on quickly, but we only need 24 hours’ notice before we can begin our care. Every person is different in their care needs, and if your condition suddenly deteriorates or you feel stronger and able to cope without as much assistance, we’ll adjust your care plan to suit, providing the level of care that’s just right.
